Love tarot: whose heart are we reading?

Kyra Ourania only needs your name. She’ll find the other one in the cards.

Whatever people call you. Nicknames are fine here.

Kyra Ourania will keep it in mind while she turns the cards. It stays on your device too.

Your name, topic and anything you write stay on your device. We don’t send them anywhere.

How does a love tarot reading work?

In a love tarot reading you draw three cards. The first talks about you and where you are in love right now. The second talks about them, the person on your mind or the one who hasn’t arrived yet. The third talks about the relationship, what holds you together or what’s missing.

Here it’s done with a virtual deck, the 22 Major Arcana of the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot. You shuffle, cut, pick three cards and Kyra Ourania turns them over one by one. It’s for fun, not a prediction.

What does each position mean in a love tarot reading?

The first card, “You”, shows where you are in love right now: open, tired, ready for something new. The second, “Them”, is about the person on your mind, or whoever is on their way if there’s nobody yet. The third, “The relationship”, shows what ties you together or what’s missing between you. The three together tell the story.

What do people usually ask the love tarot?

“Are they thinking of me?”, “will we get back together?”, “will I meet someone this year?”, “is it worth trying?”. You don’t have to write your question down, it’s enough to think about it while you shuffle. If you do want to say it, type it in the box and Kyra Ourania will keep it in mind.

Which cards are good for love?

The Lovers, the Sun, the Star and the Empress are seen as some of the most favourable cards for love. The Hermit points to distance or a need for time on your own, and the Tower to a shake-up in the relationship. No card is read on its own, though: what counts is what the three say together.

The World. Fulfilment. A relationship that comes full circle and moves on together.

Will the love tarot tell me who the other person is?
It doesn’t do names. It tells you how they are at the moment and what they bring to the relationship. If you want a plain yes or no about someone, try the yes or no tarot. Go to the yes or no tarot
Do I need to know who “them” is?
No. If someone is on your mind, think of them while you shuffle. If not, the second card talks about whoever is on their way.
What if I’m not in a relationship?
Then the third card talks about what you’d like it to be. Kyra Ourania says that’s a relationship too, the one with yourself.
What if I ask again?
For three hours, with the same name, you get the same cards. The heart doesn’t change its mind every five minutes, and neither does the deck.
Do you keep my name?
No. Your name and anything you write stay on your device. The server only counts how many readings were done.
